By road to Cartí, San Blas
Although the road is fully paved, vehicles must be vans or 4×4 SUVs, as the road is mountainous and good traction is required to reach Cartí, San Blas. Our consultants can help you book shared or private transportation from Panama City to Cartí.


Driving directions to get to San Blas
- Please confirm with our advisors which pier you should go to. There are three piers in Cartí and it is easy to get confused.
- From Panama City, take the Corredor Sur towards Tocumen International Airport, but continue along the corridor to the end, without exiting at the airport.
- At the end of the Corredor Sur, you will find the following towns: 24 de Diciembre (+20 minutes), Pacora (+30 minutes) and finally Chepo (+20 minutes).
- After Chepo, you will find an A/B gas station. Continue straight ahead, no detours.
- Ten minutes after passing the A/B station, you will see on your left the entrance to the road leading to San Blas. Turn left. This road has no detours.
- Approximately one hour after entering the road, you will find the first of two checkpoints.
- At the first location you will have to pay the entrance tax: USD 20 per person, plus an additional charge per vehicle.
- In the second place you will be asked for your passport or Panamanian identity card.
- You must have arrived in San Blas !
